Sonia was like a second mom to me and she holds a place close to my heart. She would always be feeding me home cooked meals, taking pictures of us girls before we went out, making us tea, and even loved my dog magnum like she was her own. Her home was always a loving place to come to and I will miss her incredibly much. I look forward to the day when we can see each other again in heaven. Xo

I and Sonia were colleagues for two years at IRMA, a post secondary school in Bucharest.
Friendly, smart, joyful and full of life. I enjoyed her company in numerous parties and trips to the mountains...adorable. Since then we never met and life paths separate us, being in touch occasionally. For me...she's there, the same, still living in my memories.
God rest you in peace, Sonia!

It is with great honor and deep condolences that I offer some words of remembrance about my dear friend Sonia. I knew her for over 40 years now and remember meeting her when I first got my job at ICPE Bucurarest. I was immediately attracted to her personality and her joyful self, she was a breath of fresh air seeing her in the office every day . We became instant friends and even though life has taken us far away from each other I never let go of those memories from back then. I don't think I remember her without a smile on her face, and it brings me great joy to think of her like that now. I remember being in awe of her, she was one of the most elegant ladies I ever knew, with a great positive disposition and a personality that was intoxicating to all around her. There are too many things to enumerate about her but what sticks out in my minds eye is her laugh and her smile, she always managed to make me smile too. I feel blessed to have been so lucky to have such a genuine and true friend and I will never forget her. I'm most proud of her for the mother she was, after many years and even in recent months she is the best example a mother can be. She raised two beautiful and emotionally balanced individuals and it's a testimony to who she was a person that will carry on. In life, we both were faithful people and have always prayed for one another in times of need, it is this very faith that gives me hope that I will see her once again in the good place she is now . With love and appreciation, Mica
