It is with heavy hearts, that the Family announces Sonia’s passing on Wednesday, September 18th, at the Sunnybrook Health Science Centre in Toronto at the age of 47 years. Survived by her devoted husband Brad Marchand; her beloved daughter Ashley Marchand, who was the center of her universe. Loving daughter of Carmela Cosentino and cherished daughter in law to Jo-Anne and Wayne Marchand. Dear sister of Mike Grella and Brigitte Viesti; sister-in-law to Nick Vesti and Leslie Donovan. Cherished aunt of Nikki Grella, Ryan Grella, Guy Viesti, Anthony Viesti, John Donovan and Blake Donovan. Predeceased by her father Nikola Cosentino.
Sonia will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many other family, friends and colleagues.
Sonia’s career over the years included Working as a Retail Manager most notably at Walmart, Shopper’s Drug Mart, Rona, and later in life she owned a Canadian Tire in Marystown, Newfoundland with her husband, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
Sonia had an incredible love of family and always enjoyed family gatherings. She also loved traveling North America, cheering Ashley on and watching her play softball. Sonia’s favorite place to visit was her cottage in Sauble Beach where she would enjoy sunsets, fires, and the changing leaves in the fall, with her husband Brad, and her daughter Ashley.
Sonia will forever hold a special place in the many hearts she touched during her time here on earth.
