In memory of

林楊瑞庭 Soi Teng Lam

August 8, 1927 -  August 30, 2018

It is with great sadness that Chio and I share with you the sudden passing of our mother on Thursday August 30th. She was 91.

Despite her advanced years, we have been blessed with her relatively good health and clear faculty. We were so pleased to see her regaining her spirit in recent months after losing her husband of 71 years last November.

Transitioning from a relatively wealthy family life style before the Japanese invasion in the 1940's to a modern post-war "working class" woman, she had always been a loving and supportive wife, protective mother and caring grandmother.

She was content with little pleasures of life, and took great pride in raising her two sons to be upstanding, contributing members of society. She was particularly proud to see all her 6 grandchildren becoming professionals, self sufficient and happily married.

She loved this wonderful country that her sons decided to settle in 45 years ago, and brought her and her husband here in the early '80s. She enjoyed the daily exercise in the gym and walked and chatted most mornings with the other senior folks at her condo through last week.

She loved her grand children and their spouses Yvette (Peter), Stephanie (Christopher), Eric (Samantha), Emily (Wilson), Pamela (Salvador) and Carmen (Jason). She adored her great grand children Wolfie, Norah, Aaron and was very happy to learn that Wolfie would be having a little sister in December. She enjoyed most the multiple weekly dim sums, frequent visits and phone calls and video chats with the grandchildren. She cherished their visits and was excited and "animated" every time when she watched the weekly WhatsApp videos and pictures

She will be sorrily missed by the family and her friends.

Services will be held at York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, North York on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Visitation from 10-11 am followed by a service at 11 am. Burial will follow at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Scarborough General Hospital, Grace Campus. Link http://www.torontograce.org/donate-to-tghc/

Thank you,
Stephen
