To my Beloved Uncle Simon.

Thank you for all the love and care that you have given me as I was growing up. My earliest memory of you started long before I started kindergarten. And all the memories of you are as vivid today, as they were THAT many years ago.

I will not forget the time you took me to the park, across the street from Chatham Building. I remember the time when you greeted me with a hot cross bun after the hospital doctor pumped my stomach clean. I still remember how comforting and "rescued" I felt when I saw my uncle leaning over my bed, in that cold hospital room filled with mean faces. Or the time you took me to the clinic after I twisted my ankle at school soon after I arrived in Toronto.

Whenever I needed help, you were always there to give me. You always treated me with kindness, and always, ALWAYS encouragement. Thank you for believing in me. This was the deciding factor that carried me through university.

I miss you. Dad misses you. We all do. If only you could stay a while longer... If only God would allow it.

This is not goodbye. This is not farewell. We will meet again in Heaven, Uncle Simon. We will meet again. Until then, rest in peace. No more pain, no more suffering. Be with Aunt Susana and Grandma.

Your Nephew, Raymond.
