In memory of

Silvia Siu-Ching Chan

October 15, 1942 -  October 30, 2023

Silvia Siu-Ching Chan (Luk) passed away in the early hours of Monday, October 30th, 2023, surrounded by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Timothy Ya-Ching Chan, daughter Verna Chan and son-in-law Nicholas Chambers, son David Chan and daughter-in-law Debbie Glavin. She is survived by her most cherished grandsons, Patrick Chambers and Adam Chambers; her sisters, Christine Ng, Susanna Tsang, and Irene Lo; and her brother, Raymond Luk.

A kindhearted, giving, and cheerful spirit, Silvia was a nurse with the former Riverdale Hospital for over 20 years, where her sweet and pleasant nature made her a favourite amongst many of her patients. Her retirement years were spent with her husband as they cruised all over the world. During her last several years, Silvia settled down to a quieter life with her grandsons and their overnight stays with “Pau Pau”, family gatherings, and meals. Silvia prioritized her family above all else. Her selflessness as a wife, mother, and grandmother serves as an inspiration and aspiration for her loved ones.

The family is grateful for the kind care of York Region Paramedics and Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. For those who would like to consider an alternative to flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital or the Michael Garron Hospital (formerly the Toronto East General).
