It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Shuk Han Chan Cheng on Friday, July 23, 2021 at the age of 105.

Shuk Han was born on September 10, 1915 in Hong Kong, China and was the third oldest of eight siblings. She taught at an elementary school before she married Mr. Paul Sum Tcheng on March 18, 1941. Together, they raised a daughter, Jacqueline Suet Ping Cheng. In 1976, Shuk Han and Paul Sum immigrated to Canada to reunite with their daughter. She lived in Downtown Toronto and Scarborough, before moving to Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care in 2014 at the age of 99.

Shuk Han had a passion for travelling and often visited family in Vietnam, Hong Kong, the US and Canada. She also loved to play mahjong and do taichi. She was known for her quick wit and her ability to put a smile on people’s faces.

Shuk Han was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sum. She leaves behind a daughter, Jacqueline and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, Ontario at 10:00am.

鄭陳淑嫻於1915年9月10日出生於中國香港，在八個兄弟姐妹中排行第三。 在 1941年3月18日與鄭榕森先生結婚之前，她曾在當地的一所小學任教。 他們共同養育了一個女兒鄭雪萍。 在1976年，鄭陳淑嫻女士和鄭榕森先生移民到加拿大多倫多與他們的女兒團聚。 她住在多倫多市中心和士嘉堡，到2014年，99歲時移居到頤康老年護理中心。
