In memory of

Shirley Camick

October 9, 1935 -  April 8, 2024

Shirley passed away, of natural causes, on April 8, 2024 at North York General Hospital palliative care unit at the age of 88, with family by her side. Beloved wife of Jack (deceased). Loving mother of Rob, Brian (Julie) and Gary (Evelyn). Devoted grandmother, Grandma Shirley, will be greatly missed by her grandchildren DJ, Adam, Krista, Lukas, Alexa, Katelyn and Ryan. Beloved sister of Joyce (Jim) ( both predeceased), Mervyn (predeceased), Fran (Dick) (both predeceased) and Roy (predeceased) (Edith). She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Shirley was born in Hoyle (near Timmins), to parents Lester and Olga. She grew up on the family farm with siblings Joyce, Fran, Mervyn and Roy. She met and married Jack and they settled in North York where they raised three energetic and caring boys: Rob, Brian and Gary. Shirley loved being a school teacher for her entire career until she retired in 1996. Shirley always enjoyed traveling, especially during March break. You would find her on the beaches of the Caribbean or cruising around the islands. Shirley always remembered family and organized family get-togethers, whenever it was time for a family birthday. In retirement she had more time to enjoy bowling and ballroom dancing at a variety of different dance venues. Her caring and commitment to family and friends will be sadly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
