In Loving Memory of Shirley Anne(Brown) Currie
October 15, 1941– March 14, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Anne (Brown) Currie on March 14, 2025 at Michael Garron Hospital, after a long illness. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, whose kindness and strength touched all who knew her.

Shirley is lovingly remembered by her son Jeffrey, daughter-in-law Ava, and cherished grandson Kyle. She is also survived by her brother Andrew and sister-in-law Carolyn, along with their children Stephen (Christine), Gavin (Chloe).

Her younger brother George and his wife Nancy also mourn her passing, along with their children Geoffrey (Andrea), Mary Ellen (Joe) and Jamie(Julie).

She will also be dearly missed by her devoted companion, Bob Cheeseman with whom she shared many treasured years.

One of Shirley‘s proudest legacies was her volunteer work at True Davidson Acres where she was recognized for her outstanding and on-going commitment to enriching the lives of residents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 12, 2025, to honor and remember Shirley

A private burial service will take place at Mt Pleasant cemetery with immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice in her memory.

She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Aunt Shirley was always an incredibly loving, caring, and kind human being. Not a day went by that she wasn’t “dressed to the nines” with her hair and makeup done, she was always a class act. I have nothing but the fondest memories of Aunt Shirley from being a kid right up until I had kids of my own. She will be missed. May you rest in peace, Aunt Shirley.

Love you always,
Jamie

Shirley, I will miss your smiling face, your twinkling eyes, your extreme kindness and our phone conversations where we would often reminisce about all the good times we had.
Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end, for they only mean I’ll miss you until we meet again. Forever in my heart.

Aunt Shirley,
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you, and whispered "Come to me". With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest,God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best.
You will forever live in my heart. 💔 I shall miss our dinners and your beautiful smile.

So sad to hear about her passing.
She was the nicest person I met, I worked with her at st. Paul insurance years ago.
Last time I saw her was a couple years ago when the st. Paul friends got together yearly.
My sincerely condolences to all her family.

Shirley, you were a dear friend and valued member of our condominium community. With your lovely personality and sense of humour, we shared many conversations and lots of laughs over the years. We also shared our love of the Maple Leafs commenting on every win and loss and hopes to make it passed the first round of playoffs. You will be missed by many friends and family but I know that you have now made your way to be among the stars where your beautiful face will still shine. Love & Blessings, Barbara
