Sheila passed away peacefully on April 24, 2023 with her husband and close family by her side. She leaves her husband of 23 years, Dorin Predescu, her brother Dan and sisters-in-law Janet Bone and Holly Fitzgerald. She is predeceased by her parents Margaret and Ray Fitzgerald of Peterborough, and her brother Paul (2014). Sheila treasured her Fitzgerald nieces and nephews, Lauren (Steve Book), Dale (Alison), Christine, Kevin, Ryan and Luke and the latest generation including Ruby, Owen and Malcolm. She is a much loved member of the Fitzgerald and McGuire families and was extremely close to her many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Sheila enjoyed her business life in Toronto in the fields of financial services and human resources, where she made many lifelong friends. Together as a couple for a total of 31 years, she and Dorin loved travelling and having social times with family and friends in the Ontario countryside. Golf became one of her passions for which she had a natural ability.
In her final months, Sheila received palliative care at St. Michael’s Hospital and Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital. We are deeply grateful to the doctors, nurses and support staff who provided superb and compassionate care to Sheila. Her dear friend Maureen Maloney was by her side over the past few months to support Sheila and her family, as were her cousins and friends, including Amanda Sebris and “The Gang.” We are also grateful to the many friends and family members who provided comfort to Sheila and her family and appreciate your visits, thoughts, flowers and prayers.
