Sandy Luong
February 28, 1993 - April 12, 2016
LUONG, Sandy - (February 28, 1993 - April 12, 2016) – Toronto, Ontario, passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2016 surrounded by nature. Born in East York, Toronto, daughter of Fanny Tran & Hoa Luong, sister of Cindy & Tracy Luong.
Sandy loved being in nature, listening to music and all things purple. She was well-known for her collection of stuffed animals, and even more so for sharing them with others; Sandy loved giving gifts. She loved to read and play Mahjong with family, even though grandma always won. In school as in life, she always reached out to help others, from sharing lunches to helping others with homework. Sandy was the kindest and most compassionate person we have ever known. She accepted everyone for who they were and celebrated individuality. Her love for learning and trying new things recently led her to pick up sewing and fashion design. She had a passion for Psychology and strived to one day become a researcher in the field.
We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Sandy, who had an appreciation for wisdom and proverbs. Among the many quotes that we would like to share were:
“The flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long.” – Lao Tzu
“Trying to get everything, you often get nothing.” - Filipino Proverb
“To be wronged is nothing unless you continue to remember it.” - Confucius
We would like to invite friends and family of Sandy to the visitation and celebration of life on Friday April 22, 2016. Visitation is from 10:30AM to 1:30PM at Pine Hills Visitation Centre. Service to be held following.
Memorial donations to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) Foundation, www.supportcamh.ca/givetribute, are greatly appreciated.
