Supported by his family, after a long journey with Alzheimer's and many health struggles, the Lord, in His infinite wisdom called home His child Samuel Josephus, on Wednesday, December 20th, 2023, at the age of 88.

Sam was the beloved husband of Femmie (nee Martens). Loving Father and Cherished Opa/Great Opa to Yvonne (& Andy) Geleynse, Sam (& Milena) Geleynse - Maelle, Elinor and Caedmon, Ben (& Lee) Geleynse - Annabelle, Karin (& Chris) Haire - Eisley and Sebastian, Rebecca, Brooklynn, Eliana, Hannah and Mayah Geleynse; Paul (& Rosalia) Terpstra, Nicholas and Garrett; Karin (& Kevin) Terpstra-Huinink, Ephraim, Noel, Selah and Wilona; Ron (& Caroline) Terpstra, Stephen (& Chloe) Terpstra, Tamara (& Ethan) Froese, and Mattias.

Predeceased by his mother and father Douwe and Johanna Maria (Damen) Terpstra, siblings Wiitse (& Litty) Terpstra, Frans (& Co) Terpstra-Baars, Miek Terpstra-Piersma, (Folly Piersma), Sam Terpstra, Adrie (& Luuk) Terlouw, Han (& Genus) Wassens; Parents-in-law Geert & Femmie Martens, brother-in-law Karl Leijerzalf, and sisters-in-law Theresa Martens and Denise Martens. Much Loved Brother to Jaap & Marte Terpstra, Jelly (& Hans†) Geertsma, Juul (& Fons†) Terpstra-Nijkamp. Much Loved Brother-in-law to Roelie (& Henk) Katerberg, Albert† (& Willy) Martens, Willy (& Adrian) Kooy, Albertus (& Betty) Martens, and Ralph (& Marnie) Martens. Loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Sam was a good and faithful friend with a tender heart, strong convictions, wisdom, kindness, and a keen sense of humour. He loved gardening/yard upkeep and nature in general. He loved to be active and enjoyed the outdoors. He worked hard but enjoyed games with friends and family or sports on TV in his spare time. Sam was abundant in his love and pride for his family. He lived a life seeking to serve his Saviour faithfully. His heart's desire was that his family would continue to love and serve the Lord.

Visitation will be at Meadowvale Cemetery, 7732 Mavis Rd. Brampton, on Friday, January 5th, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. A Private Family Interment will take place on Saturday followed by a Funeral Service at Heritage Christian Reformed Church, Heritage Hall, Holland Christian Homes; on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. The services will be livestreamed.
