In memory of

Sami George Maalouf

January 24, 1950 -  August 15, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that the family shares the passing of Sami, on Monday, August 15, 2022 at the William Osler Health Systems - Brampton Civic Hospital at the age of 72 years.

Survived by his beloved wife of almost 48 years, Josephine Maalouf.

Cherished father to Janice and her husband Luis Aguilera Jr., Joanne and her husband Junior Hann and to his son, Jason.

Devoted grandfather to Cameron, Breanna and Avery Hann.

Dear brother of Soumaya and her husband Elias, Tony and his wife Rita, Hala and her husband Nabil, Nouha and her husband Charlie and Naji and his wife Eileen.

Predeceased by his beloved sister Nabila and her husband Sebou.

Also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and his lifelong childhood friend, Mounir Zaccak, whom he loved like a brother.

Sami worked hard all his life, at one point holding 3 jobs during the recession of the 90s to make sure his family never wanted or needed for anything. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his loving family and always looked forward to Sunday dinners at his home. His family was his entire world.

He was a proud and dedicated grandfather teaming with his wife, Josephine, in helping to care for their grandchildren, at times even happily sacrificing his social life with family and friends. His grandchildren were always his first priority.
Sami arrived in Canada at the young age of 18 completing his post-secondary education and entering the workforce. Sami met his wife, Josephine, through the social club at their church.

He was incredibly smart...so intelligent and knowledgeable about almost anything. He was a nature, astronomy and history buff and would spend hours discussing, listening and debating topics with any willing participant usually over coffee and dessert.

His passing has left an incredible void in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. Sami will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many family and friends in Canada and abroad.

To Josephine and Family,
I'm very sorry to hear this tragic news.
Sam was such a nice man and always had a smile on his face whenever I would see him outside visiting my parents to say hi.

Dearest Joanne, Junior, Cameron, Breanna and Avery,

Our deepest condolences to you all. We know no words can help ease your grief but please know, you are in our constant thoughts and prayers.
Joanne, your dad was such a doting grandfather and I always thought how lucky the kids were to have him in their lives. It was evident how much he loved you all. He was never seen without his big, warm smile and he was always so pleasant.

May god give each of you, the strength to overcome the difficult days ahead and may the beautiful memories you created with your dad, help give you some comfort.

All our love,
Lisa, Jamie, Brayden and Matthew xoxo
