With great sadness we announce that Sachiko 'Sachi' Moriyama, wife of the late Architect Raymond Moriyama, passed away quietly and peacefully, with her Family by her side, at Bridgepoint Hospital, in the early evening of Saturday June 22nd, after a sudden downturn in her health.
Predeceased by her Parents Shizuo and Tomiko Miyauchi and Tameji and Tsuruko Miyauchi; her younger Brother David (Betty); Sister-in-law Joan Hatashita (John); Brother-in-law Kenichi Takigawa (Irene).
Sachi will be sadly missed by her loving Family: her Sisters Totsy (Sway), Judy, Irene, Betty; Brother-in-law John, Sister-in-law Margie; her five Children Michi (Joan), Murina, Midori (Loubert), Jason (Munhee), Ajon; her ten precious Grandchildren Jessica (Evan), Stephanie (Donald), Steven (Melody), Mason (Nicole), Jacquie (Jackson), Michael (Giulia), James, Mariko (Daniel), Lauren, Akiko and Seah; her two awe-inspiring Great-Grandchildren Tristan and Conway; her many Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews . . . as well as her many, many relatives and very dear friends.
Sachi was a loving, generous, intuitive, creative, gentle soul.
She was the inspirational muse for her late husband Raymond for over ninety-one years. (They first met when he was just two years old and she was just two months old: it was love at first sight!).
Sachi was truly one of a kind. She will be forever loved and remembered for her beauty (both inside and out), gentleness, grace, generosity, dedication, understanding, thoughtfulness, kindness, consistency, calm, uncanny intuition, loyalty and her welcoming inclusive nature.
Our sincere gratitude and thanks to all the wonderful medical caregivers and support staff at St. Michael's Hospital and Bridgepoint Hospital; with extra-special heartfelt thanks to Dr Wm Sullivan, Dr Tsang and Nurses Yodit and Anna.
Visitation will be held at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Rd., Toronto (south of Eglinton, north of St. Clair Ave., 416-485-5572) on Sunday, July 14th, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The service will take place on Monday July 15, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. with a brief visitation before from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
