Ryan Anderson

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ryan Anderson, who died peacefully at his home in Toronto on October 13, 2025, at the age of 50.

Born on March 25, 1975, in Scarborough, Ryan was the beloved son of Ronald Anderson (1941–2013) and Lynda Anderson. He grew up surrounded by family and friends, creating cherished memories during summers at the cottage and embracing his love for the outdoors.

Ryan attended Albert Campbell Collegiate Institute, where he formed lifelong friendships. After high school, he moved to Vancouver to pursue his passion for music with his band, Migraine. A talented guitarist and bassist, Ryan’s love for music remained a constant throughout his life.

Ryan dedicated his time to helping others, working with TNG Community Services to support unhoused individuals in Toronto. He will be remembered for his unwavering courage, his sense of humour, and his deep compassion for those facing hardship.

Ryan is survived by his mother Lynda, his siblings Alyse (Scott), Erica (Brett), and Darren (Amanda), and his niece and nephews.

My deepest condolences go out to the Anderson family. Growing up on Leeswood Crescent in the 80s was a special time, and Ryan was an important thread in the fabric of our neighbourhood. We always looked up to Ryan as the cooler older kid on the block who inspired us to be more daring and live life to the fullest. My family and I are all truly sorry for the loss of Ryan, may he rest in peace.

I’m really shocked to hear this news. It had been many years since I saw Ryan. I have fond memories of skateboarding around the old neighborhood and playing Nintendo with him. He spent New Year’s Eve at my house either 87-88 or 88-89. So glad he followed his passion for music and also worked with people who really needed someone to care. Prayers for his fortunate rebirth and my condolences to his family and loved ones.
