In memory of

Ruby Chong Warren

September 5, 1954 -  June 21, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruby Warren on June 21, 2024. Born on September 5, 1954, Ruby was the beloved daughter of King Chun Chong and Wai Chai Chong, and the second eldest of nine siblings.

Ruby studied Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto and worked at BMO as a Credit Analyst for over 30 years, where she met her future husband, David Warren. They married in 1984, and although they separated in 2015, their union brought three wonderful children into the world. Ruby is survived by her two sons, Stephen and Matthew, her daughter Shannon, three cherished grandchildren, Aiden, Willow and Violet, six sisters, and two brothers.

Ruby's life was characterized by her unwavering support and generosity. She was the person you could count on for anything - whether it be a listening ear, a good laugh, or a delicious loaf of her famous banana bread. Her thoughtfulness and beautiful personality left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

Above all, Ruby was incredibly proud to be a mother and grandmother. She never missed an opportunity to share the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren with her friends and family. Her pride in her family was evident in everything she did, and her legacy of love and devotion will live on through them.

In her memory, donations can be made to the Shakir Rehmatullah Cancer Centre at Markham Stouffville Hospital (https://support.mshf.on.ca/rubywarren).

Visitation will be held on June 26, 2024 from 4:30pm to 7:00pm at Elgin Mills Funeral Centre, 1591 Elgin Mills Rd E., Richmond Hill, ON, L4S 1M9. Words of remembrance will begin at 6:00pm.

She will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 8361 Yonge St, Thornhill, ON, L3T 2C7.

Ruby will be remembered forever and held dearly in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be missed more than words can express, but her spirit and love will continue to inspire all who knew her.

I will never forget Ruby for her kindness and generosity. I loved her banana bread which she always made sure had very little sugar in it for me which was very thoughtful. We had a lot of good laughs together and in the past enjoyed many fun classes at the gym. I look forward to seeing Ruby on the other side 🥰
