Ruby Brown was born on May 17, 1940, in the parish of Portland in the beautiful island of Jamaica. She was the third of 13 children, born to Alvin Brown and Nelly Scott.
She migrated from Jamaica to Ontario, Canada, in the late 1960's. Ruby was employed by Revenue Canada for the last 25 years of her work life - retiring in 2013.

She was proceeded by her parents, Alvin and Nelly and seven of her siblings, Dorothy Brown, Eugene Brown, George Brown, Hyacinth Brown, Lucille Brown, Glynis Brown and Winsome Brown. She is survived by five of her siblings, Emma Johnson, Roseanna Brown, Myrna Brown, Ronald Brown, and Marlene Brown. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces, cousins and close family friends.

Ruby lived a simple but complete life and passed away peacefully at the Credit Valley Hospital on June 25, 2021, at the age of 81. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
