It is with deep sorrow and an abundance of love that we mourn the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and friend to all, Rozelle Lillian Berezowski (fr. Parsons). Rozelle passed away at the age of 76 on Friday August 16, 2024 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Though Rozelle’s passing was sudden, she was surrounded by her husband, son, daughter and sister, along with other beloved family and friends.
Born to William and Olive Hiscock in Port Hope Simpson Labrador on November 28, 1947, she was the youngest of 9 children. As a teenager Rozelle moved to Toronto in 1965 where she met her first husband. Together they had 3 children: Rowena, Sherry and Sheldon all of whom she deeply loved and adored. When her children were still very young, Rozelle became a single mother who devoted her life to raising them and serving the Lord. Rozelle became a grandmother in 1985 with the birth of her granddaughter Candace. In 1988 after the sudden passing of her daughter Rowena, Rozelle took on the role of mother for her beloved granddaughter. Rozelle again became a grandmother in 2013 with the birth of her grandson Jacob and became a great grandmother in March of this year with the birth of her great-grandson Wellsleigh.
Rozelle met her second husband Albert Berezowski at Peoples Church in North York. After her marriage to Albert in 2012 she moved to Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Rozelle was welcomed and adored by the entire Berezowski family and became an honoured step-mom and step-grandma. Rozelle’s life in Bobcaygeon was one she cherished and enjoyed to the fullest. She filled her days doting on her husband and daily walks or workouts at her community spa. She cherished outings with friends, fellowship with her church community, daily prayer and devotion to the Lord. Her evenings were filled with hours spent chatting with her beloved friends, children and family.
Left to mourn are her husband, Albert, daughter Sherry (Ron), stepchildren Easton and Hunter, son Sheldon, grandson Jacob, granddaughter/daughter Candace (Ryan), and, great-grandson Wellsleigh. Step children; Nadine (Greg), Nashelle (Mike), Tim (Shelly) and many step grandchildren, in-laws, nieces and nephews. She is survived by siblings; Cecil (Ruby), William (Flo), Harold, Ella and Olive and sister in-laws Merium and Laura. She is predeceased by siblings; Helen (Tom), Raymond, Nelly (Eric) sister in-laws Jenny, Sabina and brother in-laws Lloyd and Ron. Also left to mourn are her vast family of cousins, nieces and nephews, the entire Parsons family of in-laws, nieces and nephews and her large group of beloved friends.
Rozelle’s joy, wit, sense of humour, kindness, love and rejoicing in the Lord will be missed by all who knew her. All who loved her are comforted in knowing she is living an everlasting life with our Lord.
