In memory of
Rosina "Rose" Siller
February 13, 1929 -
August 27, 2022
SILLER, Rosina (nee Leopold) Our sweet, kind and generous, Mom, Oma, and Matriarch February 13, 1929 to August 27, 2022 departed this world to join her loving husband, the late Ludwig Siller (predeceased May 4, 2021.) Left to celebrate the wonderful woman she was, are her 5 children - Christina, Susie (Peter), Margaret (David), Theresia (Rudy), Victor (Suzanne), 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The eldest daughter of Nikolaus and Susanna Leopold, and older sister to four younger siblings, Rosina began her 93-year Journey in Obresh, Yugoslavia. Obresh is also where she first met her future husband Ludwig. They were married in Traun, Austria in 1951 and started their life and family together in the Austrian village of Eisenerz. Ultimately, they decided to immigrate to Toronto in 1953. Rose, as many called her, was the sweetest and warmest person to all that had the luck to meet her, was always ready to chat to neighbours and passersby about her garden, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a favourite neighbour, not only to the two-legged travellers, but to their four-legged companions as well. Her ability to talk to dogs was uncanny – it was if she spoke a language that only they understood. Rose loved nature. She would talk and whistle to the birds that would often chirp back as if they were in conversation. Her tenacity, work ethic and energy was unmatched, and admired by us all; so much so that we called her the “Eveready Bunny”. Rose could bring dead plants to life, make a meal for two, stretch to seven and welcomed all who entered the front door of her home as if they were royalty. She never hesitated to help us when in need, taught us and loved us. Rose will be remembered for her beautiful bright smile, her sweet laugh and kind nature. Rose touched countless lives and he will be truly missed by her family, friends and many others that she met over her amazing journey called life. In lieu of flowers, donations to Sunnybrook Hospital, Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.
