It is with heavy hearts that the Spencer family announces the passing of Rosetta Vanessa Spencer. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Spencer. Beloved mother of Doreen Spencer, Lennox Spencer, Edward Spencer Jr. (Esther Spencer), Pauline Spencer-Riley (Alfred Riley), Zenia Spencer, and Auchinleck Spencer. She will be deeply missed by her many grand children and great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at the York Funeral Centre (160 Beecroft Road, Toronto, 416-221-3404) on Saturday January 20, 2018 at 10:00 am, with a visitation one hour prior. A reception will follow immediately after the service in the Willowdale Suite. Friends and guests are welcome to go directly to the reception for refreshments, or they can attend the interment with the family, then join the reception following the burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Mother Spencer was a great example of how to live. She was a great light. I will miss her humour and candor. Thank you Auntie Zenia and the rest of the family for sharing her with us. She will be dearly missed. May her soul rest in peace.
