In memory of

Rosemary Janet Nunes

January 27, 1929 -  May 11, 2022

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our dear mother, Rosemary, who passed peacefully on May 11, 2022 at the age of 93.

Rosemary was the beloved wife of the late Frank Nunes, dearest mother of Richard (Hilary) Nunes, Ian (Ute) Nunes, Gary (Kathy) Nunes, Chris (Frances) Nunes, Liz (James) Croft; loving grandmother of Stephen Nunes, Jenn (Ryan) Houlieff, Alyssa Nunes, Vanessa (Mike) Armstrong, Sarah (Dave) Edwards, Danielle Croft, Alec and Graeme Nunes; loving great grandmother of Sienna and Hunter Houlieff, Emerson and Borden Janna, Ava and Hazel Armstrong, Noah and Henry Edwards. Born into a large family and growing up in the Sangre Grande area of Trinidad, Rosemary was the youngest daughter of the late Thomas and Edith McCartney, and sister of many siblings; the late Edmee, Kathleen, Leila, Angela, Harold, Vincent, William, George, and Bruce.

Rosemary’s love shone brightly through the constant devotion, attentiveness, and gentle care and support she offered to those closest to her; her sons and daughter, her daughters-in-law, her son-in-law, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and so left all with a lifetime of wonderful memories to cherish. Her loving and caring ways, will also be remembered by many others; nieces and nephews, as well as those Rose knew as friends, as neighbours, as coworkers.

The family extends a special thanks to those who came to know Rosemary while she was a resident at Taunton Mills, and to those who cared for her during her stay there. We are indebted to those who diligently cared for and closely watched over her when family couldn’t be there – the loving nurses and caregivers too numerous to mention by name, who treated our mother with respect and gentleness and helped ease the hardship of her last few years. Teresa … our heartfelt thanks to you and to those others who cared deeply about Rosemary-you were there for her when she most needed extra care.

A private ‘Celebration of Life’ service, in honour of our dearly beloved Rosemary, will be held at 1pm on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at 1057 Brock Road, Pickering ON L1W 3T7.

The family asks that any donations be made to a Charity of choice, and for this act of generosity, and for kind thoughts and prayers, and condolences received, the family extends their sincere appreciation to you.

Please note that all attending must wear a mask

Rosemary was more than just a co-worker, she was special, always happy, accepting, helpful, a good listener and most of all non-judgemental. It was a pleasure and honour to have had the opportunity to work with her.
To Rosemary’s family, my sincere condolences.

Rosemary was fortunate to have experienced both.
Rest in peace my friend.
