It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Rose Vartouhi Balian on August 2, 2016 at Langstaff Square Community Care in Richmond Hill, aged 87 years. Predeseased by her husband Hagop Jack Balian, sister Flora Kaltakjian and her grandson Justin Balian. Cherished mother of Hilda Giles and Dikran Jack Balian. Mother-in-law to Louise Balian and Brendan Giles. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Roseen, Eric, Eileen and Adam. Rose will be missed by her sister Seta Tatlian and by her nieces, Vivian Ghazarian and Armine Demirjian as well as her nephew Aram Kaltakjian and families. She was a loving and beloved mother, aunt, sister, friend and grandmother and devoted her life to caring for her family and friends. She enjoyed being an Avon Lady for many years where she developed lasting relationships. She enjoyed playing card games with her grandchildren, going on vacations with her family to Hawaii, Spain, Sauble Beach and Florida and watching Young and the Restless, Price is Right and Golden Girls. Special thanks to all the compassionate nurses at the Langstaff Square Community Care. In memory of Rose and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetes Association Society and Holy Trinity Armenian Church would be appreciated by the family.
