Ron passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at his home in Pickering on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at the age of 89. He is loved and dearly missed by his wife Oi-Lan Adams and by his two daughters Elisabeth (Bob) and Dawn (Bill). Loving “Goong Goong” to his four precious grandchildren Matthew, Hillary, Justin and Holly. Ron was an avid long-distance runner and wood carver. He enjoyed reading poetry and literature and listening to classical music. Ron was a passionate gardener and was an award winning collector of over 40 different species of peonies. Due to public health restrictions, a small private Service will be held at the Simple Alternative Funeral Centre in Pickering at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 15th. At the conclusion of the Service, interment will follow at Erskine Cemetery in Pickering. Any guests interested in joining the procession are asked to congregate in the parking lot at the Funeral Centre by 11:30 AM. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
