Ronald Frederick Crowdy passed away at the age of 90 the morning of Sunday June 23 at Cawthra Gardens Long Term Care in Mississauga. Beloved husband of 57 years to Herta and loving father of Elissa (Michael), Erica, and Edgar (Kelly). Cherished Opa to Thomas, Olivia, Daniel and Benjamin. He is preceded by his mother Annie Elizabeth Crowdy (née Stemp), and siblings Dorothy (John), Vera (Harold) and Wilfred (Dorothy).
Ron was born 15 April 1934 and grew up in the West Toronto Junction. He enjoyed a long career as a drafter and then as a purchasing agent at A&P where he made many lifelong friends. Ron was a longtime member of Alderwood United Church and in his later years the Salvation Army in Mississauga, communities that were close to his heart.
Ron will be remembered by friends and family for his kindness, gentleness and ever-present sense of humor, always offering a thoughtful word and a smile. He had a great love of carpentry and the natural world, manifest in his well lived-in birdhouses. He loved travelling, reading, trains, puzzles, and the CNE. A life well lived; he will be remembered with great love. He is with his Jesus now.
