Romualdo (Ronnie) M.P. Fernandes
November 24,1932- December 29,2024.

Ronnie passed away peacefully at Trillium Health Partners-Mississauga Hospital in the early hours of Sunday December 29,2024. He had been hospitalized since December 16, 2024.

Ronnie was born in Goa to Cajetan and Maria Fernandes and the family then moved to Karachi, Pakistan. He went to school there and later worked at National & Grindlays Bank. He was then transferred to Kampala, Uganda in 1956 where he became a very close friend of the Francis family. In 1971 he left for Portugal and eventually settled in Canada in 1972.

Ronnie came from a family of 8 siblings. Brother to late Martin Fernandes, late Joyce Muffty (late Xavier), late Philomena Pinto (late Victor), late Victor Fernandes, late Guilhermine (Gilley) D’Souza (late Nicholas), Hillary (Hilar) Fernandes, late Thelma Fernandes, and Mary D'Souza (Antao).

Ronnie leaves behind 33 nieces and nephews, 29 grand nieces and nephews, and 4 great grand nieces and nephews.

Ronnie will be sadly missed by the Francis families of Terry, Errol and Tom.

A funeral service will be held at:
Sts Martha and Mary Parish,
1870 Burnhamthorpe Road East, Mississauga. ON L4X 2S5
on Saturday January 11, 2025 at 11am.

In accordance with Ronnie's wishes, there will be no viewing or reception.
