In memory of

Robert Z. Deak

July 4, 2007 -  February 17, 2024

With incalculable despair, we announce the passing of Robert Deák. Our beautiful and beloved boy slipped away in his sleep on February 17th, 2024, in Toronto.

He was born at home on July 4, 2007, and is survived by his parents, Zoltán Deák and Nicole Lundrigan. He shared a playful and enduring bond with his two older sisters, Sophia and Isabella, and his brother-in-law, Luc Weimer. His absence will be sharply felt by all his family, including his paternal grandmother, Olivia, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Robert was loved by all who met him. At his core, he was shy and sensitive, intelligent and insightful, gentle and incredibly affectionate. It gave him unfettered joy to make others smile. His multitude of friends were deeply important to him, and he was known to be intensely empathetic to the needs of others. Quick to listen and always quick to comfort. He was looking forward to, and wholly deserved, the wonderful future that stretched out before him.

Robert was a special individual. Burning so brightly, giving love, warmth, and laughter to everyone nearby. We had him for sixteen years. We only wish we had him for a hundred more.

A visitation with be held at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre (375 Mount Pleasant Road Toronto, ON M4T 2V8) on Friday February 23, 2024 from 4 - 7 p.m.
