Dad died as he lived: with a smile and without fear or regret. Healthy nearly until the end, he bore the pain and lethargy of two weeks in hospital with a smile and a positive attitude. He was friendly with the hospital staff, in spite of their efforts to help him regain mobility and to encourage him to eat.

Dad made friends wherever he went. He was generous with his time and his money. He was a gracious host. His circle of friends was large and always growing.

Dad volunteered for the Liberal party for 40+ years and in the Anglican Church for longer than that. Returning to skiing in his late 40s through to his mid 70s, he volunteered extensively at his ski club over many of his active skiing years. He and our mother volunteered for Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills, for some years around the time they retired.

Dad worked hard, growing, learning and succeeding in a career that he enjoyed immensely. He never lost the twinkle in his eye, or his eagerness to continue to grow and learn. He departed in peace; in the perfect frame of mind for the coming interview with St. Peter.

Bob and I met way back in the late 80,s. He was older and wiser than me. He took me under his wing as a green young businessman and taught me well as a true mentor. We went through some tough times together as well as some great accomplishments. Bob also introduced me to adult ski racing even though I wasn’t a good skier and welcomed me into his group. I have great memories of his smile and complete positive outlook even when things were tough. He was simply a great man to have in your corner. I met him for lunch a Month ago to reminisce about our colourful past. He always spoke of his family and how proud he was and never missed asking about all his past friends and business acquaintances. He loved the business talk. His body was weak but his mind was solid. I’m going to miss him but never forget him. My condolences to all his loved one. Goodbye old friend

We were so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I taught school with his wife Diana and considered them to be our friends. Such a great couple. When Ray’s dad got cancer Bob would take him to his treatments. He used to call us to see how he was doing. Such a wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this most difficult time.R.I.P Bob.

The world just lost another good one! Bob - you knew how to live life to the fullest and your smile was contagious. Even after he hung up his skis, he continued to come out to Milton Heights events and support his fellow team members. Bob had a positive energy about him that illuminated the room. He will be missed greatly!
