It is with great sadness that the family of Robert James Bessey announces his passing on Monday January 16th 2023 at the age of 85. He passed away peacefully at Oshawa Lakeridge Hospital.



Robert, lovingly known to family and friends as Bob, was born in Toronto, Canada to parents Roy Bessey and Marjorie Steele. Predeseased by his partner Irena Ostaszewski (2022), his brother Keith Bessey (2020), his brother John Bessey (2017) and his sister Joy. Survived by his stepson Andrew Ostaszewski (Katherine and children Aleksandra and Sophie), stepdaughter Anna Ostaszewski (children Elyse and Amelie) as well as his nieces and nephews Susan, Chris, Lauri, Nicole and Andrea.



He will be missed dearly and deeply; his loving and caring ways will always be remembered by everyone who met this gentle giant. May his memory be eternal.
