In memory of

Bob Lake

January 8, 1955 -  August 16, 2020

It is with great sadness that we share Bob’s peaceful passing in his Mississauga home on August 16th, 2020 in his 65th year. Best friend and beloved husband of 46 years to Judi Cormier-Lake. Bob will be greatly missed by his children Jennifer (Barry), Robert (Sherry) and Kerrie (Dan). Bob was adored by his grandchildren Madison, Avery, Hailey and Myles. He had a special bond and love for each of them. Bob was born in Toronto, Ontario to Wilton Roy and Frances Mary Lake. He will be missed dearly by his sisters; Karen (Steve), Gloria (late Jim) and Mary-Ann (Roger). He also leaves behind his brothers-in-law, Bob (Celeste), Mel and Tom (Lori). He will be remembered warmly by his many nieces and nephews.

Bob will always be remembered for his hard work ethic and his love for his family. Those who were close to him knew that he would give them the shirt off his back. Some of Bob's favourite pastimes included playing poker and slot machines, going fishing, and travelling on spontaneous road trips with his wife and family.

Bob was a double lung transplant recipient and the family is asking that in lieu of flowers, a donation to Trillium Gift of Life would be appreciated (click donations tab for details).

Due to Covid-19 restrictions and limited capacity, private invitations with details will be sent to those in the immediate family.

Services will be held at Simple Alternative, followed by internment at Glen Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery.

friends since we were 17 years old
No matter where life took us we would always run into each other again and again and just pick up where we left off.
I remember how proud we all were when Judi gave him Jennifer, especially Bob!
And again for Robert and Kerrie.
He helped us prepare in 5 weeks for the Surprise arrival of our third child Christopher
We worked together on cars, furniture, cleaned phone booths and installed ductwork and I was honoured to be there along the way.
The last couple of years showed me just how courageous he was. I’m not sure if I could’ve been that brave to take on a double lung transplant the way he ran headlong into it seemingly without any fear whatsoever.
I am deeply honoured to have him touch my life the way he did and show me what courage looked like. We will run into each other again my friend Bob.
