It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Rick Tung Hong Loo, who left us on April 13, 2024. He was 75 years old.
Rick was born on June 27, 1949 in Taishan, Guangdong, China, the son of Kwai Choi Loo and Yin Kwai Loo. He grew up surrounded by love and laughter alongside his two sisters, Sandy and Doris, and his late sister Betty. From an early age, Rick showed a passion for life that would define him throughout his years.
Rick was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Linda, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Together, and with the support of their families, they raised their two children – who meant the world to Rick.
As a father, Rick was our guiding light, always offering sage advice and unwavering support. His eldest son, Keith, and his wife Mila, along with their son Logan, were a source of immense pride and joy for him. His second son, Pierre, and his wife Emily, along with their son Anderson, brought him endless happiness and laughter. Rick's love for his family knew no bounds, and his legacy lives on through each of us.
Rick was a man of many talents and passions. He was a scholar: attending University of Toronto as an Engineer. He was an athlete: with incredible prowess at swimming, table tennis, bowling, and golf. He was an entrepreneur: from restauranteur to driver education.
He approached life with a sense of adventure and curiosity, always eager to learn and explore new horizons. His kindness, generosity, and infectious smile touched the lives of all who knew him. He has touched the lives of thousands, who respectfully refer to him as “si fu”.
Although Rick may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will continue to live on in our hearts forever. We take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held on April 26th and 27th.
Visitations for Rick are on Friday April 26 between 4-8pm, and on Saturday April 27 between 10-11am. A few words will be shared by his family at 11am following the visitation. A lunch reception will be held after.
We will miss you, Dad, but your memory will always bring us comfort and joy. Until we meet again.
With all our love
