Richard Moy

In memory of,
RICHARD MOY, 1960 – 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Moy, age 63, who died peacefully on March 22, 2024, after his short battle with cancer at Markham Stouffville Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born in Trinidad on July 24, 1960 to Frank and Betty Moy, and older brother to Gilbert, Richard met his wife Patricia during his undergraduate program at York University and was married on August 16, 1986 in Toronto, Canada.

He was a devoted father to three children; Rebecca, Nancy and Christopher, father-in-law to Sidney and Drex and grandfather to Eliza. Richard loved his children dearly and would be there to help whenever they needed. He would find any reason to spend time with them including treating everyone to spontaneous dinners, or calling just to hear their voices.
One of his many passions included soccer where he volunteered his time for over 20 years as a soccer referee and at SC Toronto as the Treasurer and Board member. He also volunteered his time as an Elder and Treasurer for Toronto Formosan Presbyterian Church.
He has made an impact in his work at the Salvation Army, St. Michael’s Hospital, York University and George Brown College.
He will be deeply missed by many family and friends. He is survived by his wife; Patricia, children; Rebecca (Sidney), Nancy (Drexzel) and Christopher, grandchild; Eliza, his mom; Betty, brother; Gilbert (Ling), nieces; Carolyn, Pauline, and Stephanie. He has several extended family members comprised of In-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews in United States and Canada.

Though he may no longer be with us physically, he will forever be in our hearts and memories.

Dear Patricia and family,

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your beloved husband and father. Although we have lost touch over the years, I still have fond memories of the times we shared in the 80s. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. May you find comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the arms of our Lord. You are in my thoughts and prayers
