Richard Alexander Allan

February 18, 1947 -  November 10, 2025

ALLAN, Richard Alexander
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Richard Alexander Allan at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on November 10, 2025 at the age of 78.
Rick was born on February 18, 1947 in Toronto to the late Alex and Audrey Allan of Willowdale. He is predeceased by his sister Barbara Taylor (Don). He wore many hats in his career- survey draftsman, Metro planning board, Condominium Management, Limousine Driver and Disc Jockey.
Over the years his true passion for gardening, music, art and cars shone through. He loved sitting in his backyard surrounded by his beautiful flowers, listening to his music and his newfound passion for drawing and sketching. He loved attending car shows in his 1965 Thunderbird.
Rick will be deeply missed by his loving wife Rosemary “Bunny” and his daughters Stacey Hall (Michael) and Angela Borden (Robert). He was a loving and caring Papa to Jenessa and Cora and was blessed with two great grandsons Isiah and Noah. He is also survived by his sister Pat Morton (Bob), many sisters and brother in laws, nieces, nephews (great and great-great) and many amazing long-time circle of friends who became our second family.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held on January 17, 2026 with details to follow.
Arrangements entrusted to THORNTON CEMETERY and FUNERAL CENTRE 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa L1J 0C9.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Durham Region Cancer Centre or Grandview Kids Ajax Family Support Fund in Richard Allan’s name.

“Dode, we will miss you forever. Your laughter, your jokes, your kindness, your love. Until we meet again, your loving family and friends.”

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 1:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. at the Pickering Casino in the Pic Room (888 Durham Live Avenue, Pickering Ontario).

Rick was a gentleman… a wonderful family man. He and Rose always made me feel welcome and treated our daughter Jennifer (RIP) like another of their own. Stacey and Angela were so proud of their loving Dad. He will be missed. 💔

Rick was very witty very smart. Had a very easily identifiable laugh. There’s a few times he never had a new joke to tell or an old joke to tell better. He will be missed, but he will not be forgotten.
