Reynaldo “Rene” Peroso Tecson, 84 years old, passed away on April 28, 2024 in Scarborough, Ontario. Rene was born on December 17, 1939 in San Miguel, Bulacan, Philippines.

Rene was predeceased by his Wife, Dalisay Gonzales Tecson. He grew up in the Philippines with his sister, Carmelita Ramos, and other siblings, Elvie, Nestor, Glen. Rene is survived by his three children and their spouses; Rolando Tecson, Rosiella (Ronald) Palaya, and Roselyn (Meynardo) Sevilla, as well as his grandchildren; Roald, Anne, Criselle, Maria, Nathaniel, and Madeline.

He spent all his life in the province of Bulacan, where he worked multiple odd jobs to support and raise his family. The last one of these odd jobs was with his uncle, Tata Elsie. During the time when their children migrated to Canada, Rene and Dalisay had a support system from his sister Carmelita and her family, and their other relatives in the Philippines; Kenneth, Jane, Diane, Mimi, Yen, and Rony. He was also loved and cared for by Manny, his “anak-anakan”, as well as Michelle, Therese, and Bernie.

Rene was a joyful, humorous, and thoughtful person to be around. Whenever he was with his grandchildren, he would teach them Sudoku, play piano, and serenade them with his beautiful singing. Before when he was still working, after a hard day's work, he would have a beer or two (or three, or four), and smoke a cigarette.

The greatest gift that Rene and Dalisay gave their children was their education.

His life will be celebrated on May 4, 2024, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto, Ontario. Interment will be on May 11, 2024. Memorial Mass at 1:00 pm, Immaculate Heart of Mary (131 Birchmount Rd, Scarborough ON). We will send him to his final resting place at 3:00 pm at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
