Rev. Iqbal Masih, our very loving father passed away on January 26, 2022, at the age of 79 in Milton, Ontario, Canada. His battle with Alzheimer's in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Our Papa came out as a hero and stayed strong until the end.

He was born on 4th Oct. in the city of Ghaziabad, U.P. India to Rev. Mumtaz Masih and his wife Shanti. He was born in a family filled with Christian Evangelistic music and developed a deep passion for music. He was the oldest brother among five siblings. He completed his elementary education in Bareilly and for further education went to Christian College Lucknow. After completing his Masters, he enthusiastically went to Seminary in Bareilly to be a minister of Christian faith.

In his ministry of thirty-four years, he was a pastor, district superintendent and executive secretary of Agra regional conference. He was a loving, giving and benevolent pastor who touched many lives by his actions. He worked very hard for and with his congregation. His legacy in Christian music is remembered through his compositions and lyrics. His conduction of church choirs was exemplary. He was honest and brave in his values. The establishment of the Christian Colony in the Meerut district is an example of his hard work and perseverance.

He got married to his wife for forty-nine years, in 1973. Together with Lila, he built a beautiful home and had two daughters Shefali and Onima. They were an example of strong Christian marriage and commitment. He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather. After retirement, they both moved to Canada and lived with the family of their older daughter.

The last ten years of his life were filled with struggle with Dementia. He fought through it all without any complains or demands. His gentle disposition and beautiful smile were admired by all. Rev. Dear Shefali and Onima, we are saddened by the news of your loss. May the soul of your father be at peace. We pray for strength and comfort for you and your family at this difficult time. Please accept our condolences. May almighty God grant you peace during this time of grief. As good daughters, you took really good care of your father, when he needed it. I am sure he is in a better place now. We have very fond memories of him from Meerut, as he was the pastor who solemnized and presided over most of our family member's marriages which took place at Central Methodist Church Meerut. Last I met him on 10th October 2010, at my mother’s funeral in Meerut, where he paid a wonderful prayer tribute to her. Our prayers are always with you and your family. From all Colvin’s
