Our father loved to build things — especially for his family. He built furniture, docks (5 of them), a cottage plus an addition to the cottage, a large shed and even an outhouse. :) To build the cottage, he had to bring all the wood and materials across the lake with his little aluminum boat because there was no road to the property. Who knows how many trips he had to make.... But the crowning achievement was the family and the lives that he built with mom.

Reiner loved dancing. More often than not, we were the first couple on the dance floor ꟷ even in our later years. I remember one evening especially well, because we danced more than ever before.

We were invited to a Bath Mitzvah at the Prince Hotel in 1987. It was a very large gathering of family and friends from all over the world. We sat at a table with an architect and a builder and their respective wives. As soon as the live band started to play, the architect and his wife got up and said to us "come on let's go"! The six of us were the first ones on the dance floor and we danced all night. We only stopped briefly for the super gourmet buffet and the speeches. What a wonderful and unforgettable time we had. On the way home, Reiner said to me "Oh what a night"!
