It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Radu Sebastian Muntean aka “Bebe” or “CBas” on September 11, 2025, at the young age of 36, while surrounded by his family.
Sebastian will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his mother Mirela, sister Monica, cat “Pisi”, his loving family and many friends.
Born in Brasov, Romania on August 8, 1989 to Mirela and Ovidiu (predeceased) Muntean, Bebe was a funny and too smart for his own good type of kid. He attended kindergarten and school, while enjoying his forming years spending lots of great times and having lots of adventures with family and making friends everywhere he went. He developed a fascination with cars at a very young age, and his dream job was to be retired and be old enough to smoke. He would drive his teachers crazy in school because he was too smart and too funny, and made his presence known anywhere he went. It was too easy for him to get along with anyone.
At the age of 11, he moved to Canada with his parents and sister for a new life. He attended school, college, and worked his way through school while maintaining a very active social life. He was the first to lend a hand to someone in need, help out a friend, or call you for your birthday. He thought of everyone before himself and put his own needs to the side for someone else in need.
In 2016, after a bad headache and an ER visit, he was ultimately diagnosed with an Astrocytoma brain tumour. He endured 4 brain surgeries over the course of the last 9 years of his life. He fought a good fight, with courage and dignity, and went against the grain. He stood firm for what he believed in until the last moment. He chose to remain private in his fight, which may have been misunderstood at times. He was a warrior in the face of adversity and showed unimaginable strength, and put his trust in his Faith. He had a special relationship with God and studied the Bible, and put his trust into His hands.
Bebe enjoyed the simple things in life. He would make you laugh until you cry with his funny, silly antics, and had the best one liners. He was always ready to go for a ride, help you move, or share a good meal. He had the biggest heart and loved hard. He was selfless, kind, and gentle, and wouldn’t hurt a soul. His memory was too good and nothing would ever slip by him. He was authentic, genuine and honest, and never shied away from adversity or a challenge, but faced it head on with self-respect, honour and grace. Although sometimes misunderstood, he was loved and will be remembered by many people who were lucky to have their lives graced by his presence, love and kindness.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. Shahideh, Dr. Merali, and the rest of the teams at Trillium Health Partners that were involved in his care; Dr. Cho and Amanda, as well as the rest of the team at Brameast Palliative Care Team, and the nurses at Carepartners who helped care for and guide the family throughout his care. They were essential in the ability to provide care and comfort for Sebastian during his journey.
Although his physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his legacy will continue to guide us forward, and we take solace that he is now resting and at peace.
We love you and miss you forever Strumpf Galagios.
