In memory of

Priscilla Yee Wun Chan

September 24, 1948 -  February 24, 2023

Priscilla Chan passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24th, 2023, with her family by her side.

She is survived, cherished, and remembered by her loving husband of 46 years, Rolic; children, Flora (Owen) and Florence (Paul); grandchildren, Clara and Declan; sisters, Rosita (Billy), Miranda (Ken), and Yolanda; nieces and nephews, Ian (Martina), Leonard (Penelope), Samantha, & Janus (Fung) and extended family. Priscilla will now join her late parents and sisters Amy & Judy.

She was born in Shanghai, China on September 24, 1948. She moved to and grew up in Hong Kong with her parents and 5 sisters. She graduated from Munsang College (Year 1966) and fell in love with Rolic in 1975 and they married in 1977. She left Cathay Pacific Airlines after 19 years of service when she immigrated with her family to Toronto in 1988. She was fortunate to retire at the early age of 46 after working at London Life for 5 years.

She truly lived, laughed, and loved to the fullest with no regrets. Some of her greatest joy came from traveling the world and experiencing all that life has to offer with family and friends. Locally, she enjoyed spending time with family & friends, mah-jong, tai-chi, cooking, gardening, and pottery.

She took an active role in the lives of her grandchildren. Taught Clara and Declan many life skills with incredible patience and creativity. She always had many “projects” planned in her popular “grandma summer camps and sleepovers”. It always made her day whenever a stranger mistook her for their mom at the park and was always involved in their milestones, recitals, birthday parties, and numerous other activities.

She was known for her positivity, kindness, creativity, selflessness, sense of humour, righteousness, and strive for perfection. Even when ill, she was never angry, sad, or depressed – she could find the silver lining to keep pushing forward in any situation. She represented the goodness and strength that we all need every day in our lives. She always rose to meet life's challenges with grace. Priscilla was so special; her spirit is one of a kind and will be deeply missed by many.

Family and friends are welcome to attend Priscilla’s Celebration of Life, which will be held at Elgin Mills Cemetery on Friday, March 3rd, 2023. Visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. and Service from 10 to 11 a.m. A Consolation lunch will be served at My Wonderful Kitchen at 12:30 p.m.

They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
still loved, still missed and always dear."
