With deep love and heavy hearts, we share the peaceful passing of our beloved Premlata Dhami, who left us on April 26th, 2025, at 6:50 PM. Just 41 days after the passing of her devoted husband, Dharampal Dhami, she followed him on her own eternal journey—having lovingly carried out every ritual in his honour. She was surrounded by her family, just as he was, embraced in love until her final breath.
In Hindu tradition, 41 days mark a sacred cycle of mourning. Premlata Dhami’s presence through this sacred 41-day period was more than meaningful—it’s a reflection of her love, her strength, and her unwavering sense of duty. She remained steady and strong through his final rites, with quiet grace, and only once his soul was at peace did she begin her own journey to reunite with him.
Their lives were beautifully intertwined. Their love was full of laughter, deep devotion, and unity. Together, they were playful, strong, and inseparable—the very heart and backbone of our family. Where he was the guiding force, she was the soul: gentle yet fierce, nurturing yet strong. Together, they were our pillars, and now, reunited, they remain the foundation of everything we hold dear to our hearts.
Born to Telu Ram Bhardwaj and Maya Rani Bhardwaj, Premlata Dhami is remembered as a fiercely dedicated mother and grandmother. Premlata Dhami was known for her honesty, her straightforward wisdom, and the deep understanding she had of her children's hearts. She was a fierce protector, and a woman who loved big. Her embrace was where you felt safe, her kitchen a gathering place, and her garden a reflection of the care she poured into every corner of her life.
A devoted mother and grandmother, and a fiercely loyal wife, she made every moment count. Her laughter, her big cuddles and kisses, her words and heartfelt actions made her a constant presence in the lives of those lucky enough to know her. Her home was more than a home—it was where you came to feel loved, seen, and cared for. She made sure everyone who entered felt like they belonged.
She is survived by her children: Veena Sharma, Suman Sharma, Sunita Dhami, Anita Sharma, Tikka Sharma, Babita Dhami, Pavan Dhami, Ricki Dhami, Sima Rajini Dhami Patel, Vijay Patel, Raman Dhami, and Seema Dhami. Her memory will continue to live on through her grandchildren: Munesh Sharma, Priyanka Sharma, Anisha Sharma Kamboj, Anish Kamboj, Sahil Sharma, Ajay Dhami, Purab Dhami, Amar Dhami, Maya Dhami, and Aaryan Dhami.
Though we miss her more than words can express, we find comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with the love of her life, Dharampal Dhami—just as she always was, and always will be. Their love lives on.
We invite all who knew and loved Premlata Dhami to join us in honouring her life, offering prayers, and celebrating the incredible woman she was.
