Politimi Melas

October 14, 1952 -  July 11, 2016

With sadness and heavy hearts, we must say goodbye to Politimi Melas, who lost her 14-month battle with ovarian cancer. She passed away surrounded by her family and friends at Princess Margaret Hospital on Monday. Poli was an incredible woman that showed unconditional love and generosity for every single person in her life, stranger or friend. Poli leaves 4 children and 9 grandchildren. Such a big loss at such a young age. Poli, I will
Miss you. I will miss your amazing hospitality. I will miss your smile when you fed me and I enjoyed every bite. I admired your positive attitude although it wasn't always easy for you. You fought like a tiger all the way through. Every time I spoke to you in the past year you just wanted to hear that I'm OK. You refused to talk about the nasty nasty cancer that at the end defeated you. Poli you'll always be in my mind and thoughts and I promise to take care of Tasi the way you did. I love you. Liat

To all of Poli's family. We are so sorry to learn of her passing. She was an amazing person, always cheerful and with a beautiful smile. We were customers of hers at the Deli and have really missed her. Please accept our sincere condolences.

Dear Family:

There are no words that can comfort sometimes the loss of a Mother. She is the glue of the family. She has wisdom, integrity, unconditional love, patience and wants only the best for her family.
I pray that the family continues to honor her through traditions and memories of her with all of you.
May God bless her and may He welcome her with song and love.
May God grant peace to you who are feeling the deepest sadness.
