楊保球 Yeung, Po Kau, 96 of Markham, Ontario passed away peacefully at Yee Hong Ho Lai Oi Wan Centre surrounded by family on May 17, 2018.

楊保球 Yeung, Po Kau was pre-deceased by his two sons 楊健釗 Kin Chiu and 楊健榮 Kin Wing and is survived by his wife 鄧八妹 Pat Mui Tang of 73 years, daughter 楊少萍 Helen, sons 楊健志 Millan and 楊健輝 Pollen, daughters-in-law 方雪珍 Anna Fong (Millan) and 林麗琼 Kim Lam (Pollen), son-in-law 余德禮 William Yu (Helen), grandsons 楊國明 Ronny (Kin Wing), 楊國業 Alan (Millan), 楊國偉 Michael (Millan), 余明賢 Sandy Yu (Helen), 余明康 Addie Yu (Helen) and 伍祖年 James Ng (Helen), granddaughters 楊嘉林 Yolanda (Pollen), 楊依林 Giselle (Pollen), 余雪兒 Shirley Yu (Helen), granddaughters-in-law 馬偑賢 Lily Ma (Alan), 駱玉瑩 Alice Lok (Michael), 涂玉桑 Yu Sang Tu (Sandy), 馬翠華 Melissa Ma (Addie) and 邵雍雍 Tracy Shao (James), grandson-in-law 陳嘉隆 Ben Chan (Shirley), great-grandsons 楊家駿 Aiden (Alan), 楊家騫 Liam (Alan), 楊家駒 Owen (Alan), 余嘉佑 Alex Yu (Sandy), 伍柏蔚 Braydon (James) and 伍彦嵐 Ethan (James), great-granddaughters 楊麗婷 Charlotte (Michael), 陳佳曼 Carmel Chan (Shirley) and 陳佳妍 Kaitlyn Chan (Shirley), sister 楊意 Yee and many loving nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces and extended family. Po Kau was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all.

Po Kau was born in 中國廣東省順德縣大良鄉 Daliang, Shunde, Foshan, Guangdong, China on July 23, 1921. He was the 15th child. Lived his childhood in poverty, he had only 3 years of education and started his machinist apprentice when he was 11 years old. He moved to Hong Kong in his 20s. With his exceptional technical skills, ingenious business ideas and a lot of hard work, he established a machine shop to repair and manufacture various machineries for rubber processing and newsprint processes in his mid-20s. The business had grown and became well known of excellent workmanship and trustworthy brand among the industries up to his retirement in mid 1980s. He then emigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1988 and had lived in Halifax NS, Ottawa ON, London ON and finally resided in Markham ON. He enjoyed playing mahjong, watching soccer and listening to Chinese opera.

Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:30 AM and immediately followed by the funeral services at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre by Rev. Lawrence Leung of Markham Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Po Kau will be laid to rest at the York Cemetery. We would much appreciate Memorial donations in lieu of flowers to the Yee Hong Community Foundation with designation to Yee Hong Markham Centre.
