It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Phooi Mei Ho at 10:54pm May 5, 2025 from Sunnybrook Hospital. She was 77 years old. She always surrounded by loved ones.

Phooi Mei was born on August 2, 1947 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Daughter of Woo Pak Khee and Chan Siew Soo, and sister to Toong Mei, Weng Cheong, Ling Mei and Yue Cheong Bobby. Phooi Mei was also the loving spouse of James Ho.

Phooi Mei will be remembered for her resilience as she moved and adapted to working and living in different places throughout her life. Living in Kuala Lumpur until her marriage to James, she then moved to Hong Kong before settling down in Toronto. Her warmth, sunny disposition and ready smile enabled her to make friends easily. She always remembered family members' and friends' birthdays, sending cards and gifts or taking them out for a meal. Such traits gained her long lasting friendships, evident when the family and friends rallied around her during the final phase of her life. They brought nourishing soups and comforted her in every way possible. In all, Phooi Mei led a happy life, enjoying good Chinese food, gardening, line dancing adn travelling/cruising.

Well loved by family and friends, Phooi Mei will be dearly missed.

Memorial Service will be held at Elgin Mills Cemetery Cremation and Funeral Centres (1591 Elgin Mills Rd East, Richmond Hill, L4S 1M9)
May 13, 2025 (Tuesday)
Visitation begins at 9:30am
Ceremony 10:30am followed by Cremation Service.


A Celebration of Life reception will follow. Please RSVP to niece Cindy Ng, (416)895-9339. Restaurant location will be texted and announced at the service.
