In memory of
李光惠先生 Philip Kwong Fai Lee
July 1, 1929 -
July 17, 2017
After a short illness, Philip passed quietly at home in Scarborough, on July 17, 2017, in his 88th year. Philip was one of 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Born in Toi-shan, China on July 1st, 1929, Philip came to Canada at the age of 19 to start a better life as a chef in Gananoque, Ontario. In 1964, he went back to Hong Kong to marry his wife, Regina. They came back to Hamilton, Ontario where he operated his restaurant, the Munch Lunch, until he retired in 1986. Philip and his family moved to his final home in Scarborough where he eventually passed away.
Philip is survived by his wife of 53 years, Regina, son Alfred, and daughters Rosa and Edna, and 6 grandchildren Ryan, Lauren, Tara, Christian, Rebecca and Noah. Also survived by his sister, Tan Kee Ng of Newark, New Jersey, and by a large extended family.
Dad was a well-respected member of the community and all those who came in contact with him, called him their friend. Dad’s entire life dedication was his family and for that, we are forever grateful. Dad will be missed by many whose lives he has touched, both near and far, but most especially by his family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017, from 9-10am, at the Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre, located at 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough. Afterward, a service will be held in the Chapel at 10am.
