"Half the reason I began playing baseball at a young age was for Lola. Every morning before the game she would make me eat two hard boiled eggs, one during the game and two more after, constantly with out fail. Looking back, I'm convinced she was so unyielding in her process because all she wanted was for me to grow tall and strong like the other players. Now that I think about it, Lola did teach me how to be strong, not through what she fed me but the example she set when it came to being steadfast in your beliefs and unwavering in your morals."

"Lola loved spam. Whenever it went on sale, in any grocery store or flyer she would always ask us to buy a bucket load and would't stop until we did. I always thought it was because she loved spam or liked eating it. But now that I think about it, she never bought it for herself, she was buying it for us (Chelsea and E.J.). Everyday during our elementary school Lola Ditse would make sure that when we came home, there was a hot lunch waiting for us, and it was always spam. I don't think there was a single moment that went by where she wasn't thinking about how to care for someone, even as she grew older she always made a point to make sure we were eating well and staying healthy. Lola Ditse, through and through was a loving mother who always worried about the well-being of others before herself, and for that she was loved by all of us beyond measure."

The first 17 years of my life Nanay has brought me up - she was the one that raised me up. During that time she meant the world to me. I remember when I was growing up whenever I play outside she doesn't want my clothes to get wet - (ayaw nya natutuyuan ako ng pawis) she always ask me to change my shirt. I also remember that I get really jealous if someone is courting her - I remember when we go on vacation at Bustos there is a guy there that they keep teasing me that was courting Nanay and I really really get upset to the point that I don't want to go to Bustos anymore and or if we are there that Nanay is always with me or that she is always on my eye sight - I was afraid that if she gets married she will not take care of me anymore - I know it was selfish of me but I was a kid then.

Nanay had a full life, she is loved and respected by everyone. When we are in the Philippines so proud to tell people that I was raised by her - because everyone respected her. We will miss you Nanay we know that you are with our Lord Jesus, and this time I'm not jealous anymore since I know you are in a better and happy place looking down at us.

We love you Nanay....
