Ruhuni de Alwis (Niece)

Entered February 10, 2023

Chitra was a true beauty built for fun and adventure grabbing life in both hands. She left Sri Lanka at a mere 20 yrs old on a 3 week "cruise ship" adventure through the Suez Canal, landing her in London (for 5 years) and then Canada - the start of lifelong adventures that took her to 5 continents. Chits adored her family, showering love on her nieces, nephews and "grandchildren" crossing generations as she always knew the latest songs and artists. Chits embraced life on her own terms. Like her sisters and brothers - who she loved deeply - she was strong willed, determined and successful in every way that mattered. Chitra's passing is a huge shock to her family and we will miss everything about her. We are truly grateful for everything she shared and taught us.
We will continue to sing, dance, laugh and love in her memory - every chance we get. May she be forever young.
