In memory of

Paula Ashmead

Paula is survived by her husband of 27 years, Steve Croft, her 97-year-old mother Ina, and her sisters and brothers, Penny, Victoria, Christopher, Stephen, Philip; and Fred, who passed away earlier this year. Paula was the eldest.
Paula passed at home with the palliative care unit from Mount Sinai Hospital assisting to make her comfortable in her final days. Paula died peacefully in her sleep. Our deepest gratitude to all the doctors and medical staff throughout her lifetime who enabled her to make the absolute best of her life.
Paula will be cremated and laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto. A celebration of life will take place on September 6, 2025, at the Cemetery Funeral Centre.
In place of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society of Canada. https://arthritis.ca

Very sad to hear of Paula's passing. She was part of a group of 4 of us who went to North Toronto Collegiate together many years ago. We always kept in touch and celebrated one another's birthdays together. She will be sorely missed. Condolences to her husband Steve and Paula's large family.

I cannot comprehend how strong this lady was with all that she has been through. Not only how strong she was for herself but how strong she was for everyone else. She was an absolute rock for my father with everything he was going through, while she was dealing with her own health problems. She never complained about anything. We will miss her dearly. Such an amazing person. Steve and the entire Ashmead family we are sorry for the loss of Paula. She was really one of a kind.

As the oldest of the seven of us, Paula was a steady source of love and guidance (along with the occasional jab) and has always been my biggest inspiration. She faced every medical challenge that arose with remarkable courage, never letting any of it keep her down or stop her from living her life to the fullest, including marrying Steve, the love of her life. And her strength, warmth and laughter certainly touched everyone who knew her. I feel so grateful to have shared such a close bond with her as sisters and I will carry her spirit and love with me always.
