In memory of

Paul Shao Ming Chang

February 10, 1952 -  August 19, 2022

Paul Shao Ming Chang, 70, of Taichung, Taiwan, passed away on August 19, 2022. Along with his family, Paul emigrated from Taiwan in 1968 to Mississauga, Ontario where he spent the remainder of his life. He lived his passion as a real estate broker with a career spanning over 50 years where he helped thousands, especially new immigrants, find homes across the GTA. Paul’s long-lasting success as a realtor came easy as he was a charismatic, unabashed character who was as hard-working as he was affable. In the eyes of his children, Paul was always considered a fighter who rarely gave up as he battled his illness over the last decade of his life, returning from near-death on multiple occasions always with a renewed vigor for life. He was never discouraged and always approached life with a level head, always choosing to problem solve than despair. Paul’s greatest satisfactions were dining with loved ones and taking pictures of life’s moments so that they can be cherished and shared. He is survived by his 4 children: Angie, Amy, Ann-Lynn and Aaron (Ana) as well as his 3 grandsons: Fox, Andrew Grey and Michael Chang whom he often described collectively as the “light of his life”. Paul will be missed dearly by his brother: Cheming (Marion) and sister: Helen and his niece, Sara (Pranesh) and nephews: Geoffrey and Andrew (Samantha).

The family will receive friends for visitation at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centres - Mississauga, 1535 S Gateway Rd, Mississauga, ON L4W 5G, on Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated. We are so sorry for the Chang’s Family loss. We are forever grateful meeting your Dad. He is a true giver and always have strong will. Whenever I have a conversation with him, He was always proud of his three musketeers ( James Fox, Andrew Grey and Michael Rex Harrison Chang). He love them so much that he makes sure he shares his cooking’s to his grandchildren. Rest In Peace Paul, truly you will be missed.

Dad, I am going to miss you so much. You were a wonderful Yeye to the boys. Thanks for taking the bus almost daily to come over and play with them and be present. You always made me feel like I was a wonderful mother and you took to the time to make me feel appreciated. From flowers on Mother's Day to a surprising me with pound cake on my birthday and two dozen eggs, you always came bearing gifts.

Aaron and I will share the wisdom and faith you shared with us and the importance of family and pursuing your dreams. I never got to use the term "Dad" growing up and it was an honour to use it with you. Thank you for pouring my tea, making us noodles and showing us that life was always meant to be celebrated no matter how small or big a celebration is. Life is meant to me shared and enjoyed. Wishing we had more time with you but I know you'll still be with us for everyday occasions. I love you so much.

I promise that the boys will know you for all the good that you were. We will strive to be all the things we will miss most about you: your tender heart, your vigour for life, your joy for breaking bread and your unconditional love for your family.

With love, Ana Chang
