In memory of

Patricia Kathryn Robertson

April 3, 1927 -  June 16, 2022

It is with sorrow we announce the death of Patricia Kathryn Robertson (nee Campbell) on June 16, 2022, in Oakville, Ontario.

Patricia is survived by her children, Kathryn McGrath of Calgary, AB and K. Scott Robertson, Oakville, ON. She was grandmother to Emily and Elaine Robertson and dear friend to Heather and Bailey Fenton also of Oakville, ON.

At the time of her passing, Patricia was the eldest sibling of Carolyn Perkins, Peter Campbell, and Frances Marrs. She was also sister to the late Constance North and sister-in-law to the late Robert Perkins. Sister-in-law to Martine Campbell and Robert Marrs. Patricia was Aunt to Peter and Michael Perkins, Sarah Marrs-Bruce, and the late Kenneth Marrs as well to Natasha and Pierre Campbell.

Patricia was born in Detroit, Michigan, USA and later immigrated with her family to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She obtained her education and married Kenneth H. Robertson in Toronto, ON. They later moved to Oakville, ON to raise their family.

In her youth, Patricia enjoyed horseback riding, waitressing at Bigwin Inn Muskoka, and socializing with friends (many of whom stayed in touch throughout her long life). Whilst in Oakville, Patricia volunteered as a helper for the choir of St. Jude’s church and as a volunteer driver to cancer patients for treatment appointments in Toronto hospitals. Patricia also enjoyed work at a local gift shop and was parental support to working families caring for their children’s needs during business hours.

In her later years, Patricia enjoyed reading, the news and watching equestrian events. Her knitting skills were appreciated and admired by many beneficiaries of her handiwork and immense talent with those needles, intricate patterns, and designs!

A woman of character, stubbornness, and the well-earned privilege of always being right, honest and a huge problem to deal with – absolutely NO compromising with her!

We will miss your tenacity and your example in our lives….

If friends so desire a donation to the Oakville Humane Society is appreciated.

Words to think of when remembering Pat are in her favourite poem:

Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on the snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn's rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die.

- Mary Elizabeth Frye 1905-2004
