In memory of

Patricia Ann Rowney

March 11, 1941 -  March 23, 2017

After a courageous battle, Patricia Ann passed peacefully surrounded by family on March 23, 2017, at 76 years of age. Loving wife to Paul for 34 years, pre-deceased by parents Robert and Mary Rae and brother Robert Jr. (Jeannett), and survived by her best friend and sister Lois (Bill). Pat was the beloved mother to Cathy (Bob), David (Holly) and Stephen (Karen), step-mother to Wendy and Ted (Emiko), cherished grandmother to Caitlin (Jordan), Lauren (Janus), Olivia, Claire, Lucy, AJ and David, adored great-grandmother to Devlyn and Chesney, wonderful aunt to Bob (Sharon), Susan (Marc), Bill and Laura, great-aunt to Emmalene, Sydney, Phoebe and Ethan, teacher and friend.

Pat dedicated her life to ensuring everyone’s day was happier than the last. She made everyone she knew feel loved, and everyone she knew loved her. Special thanks to the staff of the K1E Palliative Care Team at Sunnybrook Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, online donations can be made in Pat’s honour to either of the following campaigns (additional donation information will be available at the visitation and funeral):

We are devastated by the passing of Patsy. No finer, caring and wonderful woman could be found. We will miss her always.

Pat was an inspiration: always happy, upbeat, friendly and welcoming to all. Everyone who knew her will miss her enormously. My deep sympathy goes to all her family.

All my life we called her cousin Pat and I feel blessed that she was part of our family with her cheerful attitude. She will be will be missed but I believe that she is with her mother, Mary and my mom, Shirley and my nana Muriel and grampa Wilf Willson.

To Paul and the rest of the family - I was so sad to hear this news. I think of the thousands of students that were helped and supported in their learning by Pat - including my own daughter at Maurice Cody. I count myself with the thousands of grateful parents who felt her love for our children and who were directly touched by her genuine kindness.
May you find comfort with each other and in your memories.
With deepest sympathy,
Shelley Laskin
