Tomarchio, Paolina Paolina Tomarchio passed away peacefully , after a courageous battle with cancer, at home with family by her side on Wednesday February 27th , 2019 at the age of 86.
Dearly loved wife of the late Antonino Tomarchio( 2008) Dear Mother of Carmelo Tomarchio and his wife Silvana of Milan, Raffaele Tomarchio and his wife Dianne of Whitby, Corrado Tomarchio and his wife Karen of Brooklin, Joe Tomarchio and his wife Pina of Brooklin, and Roberto Tomarchio of Scarborough.
Nonna to Christian, Susanna, Anthony, Daniel, Jessica, Robin (Majilla), Adriana, Paolina ,Francesca and Victoria. Predeceased by her brother Masino Morana and Survived by her brother Salvatore Morana and sister Vincenza Morana.
Born in Pachino Sicily on January 30th 1933 Paolina was all about family. In 1953 she immigrated to Canada and spent 10 years working hard to support her children. She returned to her beloved Sicily in 1963.
An entrepreneur in her own right, Paolina was the first woman in her family town of Noto Sicily to drive a car. She also started her own grocery store all the while raising five boys and helping on the family farm.
In 1985 she returned to Canada with her husband and youngest sons Joe and Roberto to be with her boys Raffaele and Corrado who had moved to Canada already.
She cherished each moment she was able to spend with her boys and grandchildren and loved to be social through her Italian Club. Her little dog Stella brought joy to her heart and Nonna Paolina said" not even for One Million Dollars would I give her up".
She will be cherished forever and dearly missed by her family and all who knew her as a friend.
Visitation will be held at the Pine Hills Cemetery 625 Birchmount Road Toronto M1K 1R1 on Sunday March 3rd at 12noon - 2pm and 4pm-6pm .
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday March 4th 2019 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior.
