In memory of

Pao Chin Lew

February 19, 1928 -  April 2, 2019

Our beloved mom passed away on Apr 2, 2019 surrounded by her family at her home in Mississauga.

Mom was born in Darjeeling, India and was named Kuchi Lamu by her parents, Chong Chong and Yongu Lamu Chang in 1929. She adopted her Chinese name, Pao Chin, in 1945 when she married Wing Kong of Calcutta. She was younger sister to sisters Mei Mei Wu and Cha Lamu Shay.

Mom and dad raised 6 children in Calcutta; dad immigrated to Toronto in 1965 and mom followed with the children in 1967. Since the early 70s they made Mississauga their home. Among other changes to her life as a new immigrant mom added to her role as full time wife, mother and homemaker ten years of working outside the home.

Pao Chin was predeceased by her husband, Wing Kong (2006). She leaves behind 6 children, Pauline, Olivene, Irene, Chester, Colleen and Cliff; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Pao Chin passed on her great culinary skills to her daughters and grand daughters. Regrettably none were keen to adopt her knitting ingenuity. Pao Chin was full of warmth and humour and accepting of everyone. Best friend to all she will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, resilience, good nature, quick wit, forthrightness, fun loving and positive attitude.

Donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada in memory of Pao Chin Lew.

My sincere sympathy to all the family but specially to Pauline and Colleen witch I know very well and my dear Mrs Lew. She will be greatly missed by her daughter's and rest of the family and her friends. Mrs Lew was a very kind and sweet lady, every time she would come to do business with Pauline she always had a smile in her face she would come to me to say hi then would go sit down, very lovely person. I am very sure she is at peace with all her loved ones I will say a prayer for her soul to R.I.P.
Sincere Condolences to you all.
