In memory of

Pamela Theresa Addo

September 1, 1963 -  December 23, 2020

A special Homecoming─what a blessing. It is with great sorrow we share that Pamela Theresa Akɔosua Addo passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her family on the morning of December 23, 2020. She was the beloved daughter of Albertha Josephine Addo and Newton Kofi Addo and cherished sister of Kwame Addo (Madalena), Elizabeth Addo, Judith Addo Van Vliet (Mark) and Patience Addo.

Auntie/Tia Pamela was deeply loved by her nephews Theo, Kofi, Greyson, Ethan, Noah and niece Jordyn. She was loved by her many cousins both in Toronto and England.

For Pamela, her family was everything. Her unconditional love for her family was in abundance. For the Addo family, Pamela was everything. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and her physical presence will be greatly missed.
Pamela was a beautiful soul on the outside and her internal beauty radiated in and through all that she touched. Her strength, perseverance, brilliance, quick sense of humour and care for her family were ever present until God called her home.

Pamela was a creative soul and enjoyed the peace and beauty of nature, which closely resembled the beauty of Pamela herself. She enjoyed walking and cycling in the ravine near her home–always looking out for robins and cardinals. She was a water baby and never met a body of water that she didn’t enjoy. Her praise and worship to God was illuminated when she sang as part of her church choir.

Pamela was a skilled writer and worked in corporate communications at various organizations. Pamela was also a brilliant student and was pursuing her Master of Education with a focus in Social Justice Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto.

Pamela’s warm, generous and loving spirit will live on and through her family. A funeral will be held for Pamela on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. A link to the online service will be available on the morning of December 29, 2020, with a photo and music tribute starting at 9:30 a.m. The service will begin at 9:45 a.m.

Pamela always had a heart for supporting young people and was sensitive to families who experience food insecurity. In lieu of flowers, donations to Urban Promise Toronto (urbanpromise.com) or Black Food Toronto (blackfoodtoronto.com) would be appreciated. A Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held later in 2021.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Black Food Toronto or Urban Promise Toronto.

Pamela, was a woman of grace blessed with many gifts and talents. Her love for family especially, her nieces and nephews so precious to her.
It was my privilege to have met and worked with her. God’s angel has gone to be by his side.

The tribute to the strength of Pamela is much in evidence in her sister. I always knew to be mindful of the will of Elizabeth’s sisters as we worked together for public education . I was honoured to be a part of the family dynamics inasmuch as students and families were better served because we knew to heed their collective and individual wisdom. You live on Pamela through and with your siblings, your parents, nieces and nephews, I hope that you will be at peace.

I can’t believe you are gone and I’m so saddened by this news. We just met for coffee at work precious to covid. You were an amazing person inside and out and will be deeply missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.

Rest In Peace Pamela!
